CorrView International, LLC developed following 25 years of providing various specialty products and services to the commercial and industrial HVAC industry.

Its principal, Bill Duncan, began in chemical research and development by offering innovative, hi-tech answers to various industrial problems; providing solutions in the areas of ozone generation, ozone destruction, electrostatic precipitation, electrostatic cooling, phenolic compounding, and wastewater treatment, among others.

Moving later into the field of chemical water treatment provided a thorough understanding and working knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems and their needs. Most importantly, it provided hands on exposure to the many different forms of corrosion related damage virtually inevitable in metal piping systems. Contact CorrView International, LLC for a background history of the company, and a personal resume of Bill Duncan.

A ten year career in chemical water treatment proved the inherent limitations of providing effective corrosion protection in all applications, under all conditions, and even given the best efforts and interests. It also proved the importance of not only carefully and accurately monitoring for corrosion activity, but to quickly investigate and employ the latest corrective measures when a protective water treatment program fails. Review some issues and concerns related to chemical water treatment.

Years of experience in the field of chemical water treatment provided exposure to all common forms of corrosion related piping damage, its identification and possible cause, and in many cases - successful remediation.

New solutions to common HVAC problems have included the use of high pressure water jet for removing interior pipe deposits, remote robotic pipe inspection, metal safe chemical rust removal formulations, the latest water filtration products, and Teflon coating of refrigeration machine tubes, among others. It has also led to the evaluation and recommendation of the latest product innovations related to HVAC plant operations.

A slight career shift from chemical water treatment to the related field of ultrasonic pipe testing (UT) provided a further and more intense understanding of the entire corrosion issue. This resulted in the development of more advanced testing and reporting procedures - professional services well recognized as the most thorough available by building professionals, plant engineers, HVAC contractors, and the largest consulting engineering firms. Review various Technical Bulletins covering the topics of corrosion, ultrasonic testing, piping specialties, filtration, plant maintenance, and much more.

Ten years of ultrasonic testing experience not only documented the inevitable end result of a high corrosion condition, but where corrosion coupon monitoring was employed - showed it to be greatly inadequate at reporting realistic corrosion rate information.

While leaks, clogged strainers, and debris filled cooling tower pans are obvious signals of a corrosion related problem, ultrasonic testing has often shown to be the first and only indication that a high corrosion threat even existed. Proven after hundreds of ultrasonic investigations, UT has well documented the serious limitations of corrosion coupons - the primary form of corrosion monitoring relied upon today.

Following 25 years of documenting the devastating operational and economic effects of excessive corrosion rates, as well as the frequent failure of building and plant properties to adequately detect its activity, the idea for CorrView ® was born. We believe it provides significant benefits and advantages, as detailed throughout this Internet site. CorrView ® has been awarded Honorable Mention in the 2004 AHR Expo Innovation Award Competition.

CorrView International remains committed to providing the highest level of professional service and excellence possible in all ultrasonic testing investigations. Review our UT testing services and procedures.

In addition to offering our new CorrView ® corrosion monitor, we continue to investigate and recommend innovative solutions to problems in various areas of HVAC and plant operations.

Bill Duncan has authored numerous articles on corrosion for publication in various trade journals. Reprints of some recent articles are offered below:

We also offer a wide variety of Technical Bulletins relating to corrosion, fire protection, piping, maintenance, and other related issues.
