Having ones own equipment generally means a greater familiarity with its operation, greater accuracy and effieicncy overall, and is very much preferred.

     We favor working with those individuals who have their own equipment, are knowledgeable of the real estate business, and possess certain computer skills. For individuals interested in working with CVI, the equipment we require for our UT testing projects is:

• Panametrics 37DL or equivalent UT thickness gauge with waveform readout, and data logging capability. The device must output the data into a 2D or XY spreadsheet in Lotus, Excell, Quattro Pro or ASCII. The device MUST produce a wall thickness measurement accurate to 3 decimal points and show three decimal points when exported. No less will be acceptable. Written thickness values are not acceptable.
  
  
• Good quality digital camera with viewer, with sufficient memory to capture 100 images at high resolution. Photo size MUST be 640 x 480 pixels and greater. Smaller photo output is not acceptable. Resolution of 4 megapixel or greater, with photo output in .jpg or .gif format.
  
  
• Home or office computer, Internet access, and e-mail address. IBM - PC / Windows type is required since we do not use MAC equipment. Computer should have a CD burner for transferring data back to CVI, if Internet access is not available. We can also provide a USB memory stick for transferring data and so a computer having USB ports is preferred. Overall, some method of quickly transferring electronic data back to CVI is required, with direct Internet transfer preferred.
  
  
• Supplemental equipment such as calibration standards, surface preparation tools, surface micrometer, brushes, sound velocity charts, etc. Safety goggles, ear protection, safety shoes and hardhat in case it is required.
  
  
• Cell phone.
  
  
• Flatbed scanner with software capable of producing a graphic or Adobe image from a written page. A stand alone fax machine is acceptable in place of a scanner, but the scanner is preferred.
  
  
• Most important - We are looking for NDT personnel interested and capable of performing basic wall thickness testing, and willing to follow testing protocol we have established. We require individuals who can follow direction, as well as act independently without having a strict directive on what to do.
  
  This work is extremely simple in comparison to most other other UT work that exists. It is far simpler, usually cleaner, and more convenient than other work you have likely performed.      Please Note: We will not pay for the rental of your own equipment, internet costs, etc. We do not charge our clients when we use our own computers and instruments in the preparation of our testing and reports, and cannot charge them for yours.
