A final
determination of pipe condition is shown based upon the retirement date
calculations. Retirement date is the actually the most important final
statistic in any investigation since a very low corrosion rate extended over 70
or 90 years will just as likely produce a low estimated remaining life value or
failure as a high corrosion rate over 5 or 10
years.
Some general comments are offered
relating to test results, other observed problems, comparison to other
locations, as well as recommendations for improvement.
